Celebration of World Day Against Trafficking Persons: more than 300 people, including children join in the launching campaign under the slogan "Stop Human Trafficking" in the town of Chokwe
As part of the celebration of World Day Against Trafficking Persons, which is celebrated on 30 July the Attorney General's Office, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Save the Children join forces to carry out an awareness campaign for the prevention of human trafficking and promoting the rights of migrants. In alignment with the global day of celebrations of combating trafficking in persons, on the 3rd August of current year, a campaign under the slogan "Stop Human Trafficking" will be launched in the town of Chokwe in Gaza province. Indeed, the Chokwe district was chosen because it is one of the largest regions of origin of Mozambican migrants seeking employment in neighboring South Africa and therefore sometimes people falling prey to human traffickers' networks due to lack of access information about safe migration.
